It looks like President Barack Obama is in trouble in the key swing state of Florida. A new poll from Sachs/Mason shows that both former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee would beat the president by 5 percentage points,
Politico reports.
If the election were held today, Huckabee would get the nod by 49 percent to 44 percent, and Romney by 48 percent to 43 percent. To be sure, Obama does lead other potential Republican candidates, including ex-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and real estate mogul/reality TV star Donald Trump. Obama would top Palin by 12 percentage points, the survey shows.
Obama won Florida in 2008 with 51 percent of the vote. But his approval rating registers only 34 percent there now.
