About 2,000 people are expected to picket a GOP fundraiser attended by Vice President Mike Pence in Philadelphia Tuesday evening.

They will protest the Trump administration's immigration policies, including the separation of children from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The rally will occur outside the Rittenhouse Hotel in Rittenhouse Square where a gala for the Republican Governors Association is being held.

Pence is one of two keynote guests set for the fundraiser, the other being Scott Wagner, the Republican nominee for Pennsylvania governor. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports attendees will be asked to donate as much as $50,000 to help elect GOP gubernatorial candidates nationwide.

The protest group, Youth Caucus of America, said on its Facebook page: "In the name of humanity, no more tearing immigrant children from their parents and keeping children in hellish detention camps …

"Act up against the fascist theocrat Mike Pence. In the name of humanity, we refuse to accept a fascist America. Stop separating families!"

One photo op the group appears to be planning is the laying of children's shoes on the pavement to signify the hundreds of kids who have been taken away from their parents as the families illegally cross the border.

"We are looking for people to bring children's shoes to line [the] street with," the protesters said.
