The transcript of President Donald Trump's phone call with Ukraine's leader released Wednesday by the White House "completely" vindicates the president, Vice President Mike Pence tells Fox News host Lou Dobbs.

"The president did nothing wrong," Pence told Dobbs in an exclusive interview that aired Wednesday night. "He had a conversation with a world leader that he spoke about issues that were appropriate issues related to our strong relationship with Ukraine, and it was nothing more than that."

"From the day after the election, Democrats have been trying to overturn the results" of the 2016 presidential election, Pence said, and "it's just not going to work."

At issue is whether the Trump abused his presidential powers and sought help from Ukraine to undermine former Vice President Joe Biden and help his own re-election. Biden is seeking the Democratic presidential nomination in next year's election.

Trump repeatedly pressed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to investigate Biden, according to a rough transcript summarizing the call. The phone call came days after Trump ordered advisers to freeze $400 million in military aid for Ukraine, prompting speculation he was holding up the money as leverage for information on Biden.
