Mike Bloomberg is blaming rhetoric from rival Bernie Sanders for vandalism that has hit his presidential campaign offices across the country.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported Monday the former New York mayor's offices in Chicago were spray-painted with the words "racist," "sexist," "GOP," and "oligarch."

Bloomberg campaign manager Kevin Sheekey issued a statement calling the language "derogatory," and pointing out the word "oligarch," calling it "an act of hate."

"While we do not know who is directly responsible, we do know Sen. Bernie Sanders and his campaign have repeatedly invoked this language, and the word 'oligarch' specifically when discussing Mike Bloomberg and his campaign," Sheekey said.

"Sen. Sanders' refusal to denounce these illegal acts is a sign of his inability to lead, and his willingness to condone and promote Trump-like rhetoric has no place in our politics," he continued. "Fortunately, no one has been injured. But this needs to end before someone gets hurt."

Similar acts of vandalism have occurred at Bloomberg campaign offices in Salt Lake City, Utah; Knoxville, Tennessee; Flint, Michigan; Toledo, Ohio; Youngstown, Ohio; and Ann Arbor, Michigan, according to the Bloomerg campaign, which also noted several instances of Sanders and his surrogates using the terms "oligarch" and "oligarchy" in reference to Bloomberg.
