Porn star attorney Michael Avenatti swatted down accusations he is being paid by left-wing "political interests," telling The Daily Caller it is noise meant to "distract away from the issues of the case."
"I would encourage you to go back and look at exactly what I've said on Twitter, related to who is paying my bill," Avenatti told the DC. "We have been very clear about this."
Regardless, Avenatti continues to draw scrutiny over who or what is funding his defense-plus of Stephanie Clifford, aka porn star Stormy Daniels.
"I'll add this: any suggestion or claim that somehow this is being funded by the left or funded by some PAC or funded by left-wing political interests or funded by any other political interests is complete and utter bullshit, and you can quote me on that," Avenatti told the DC.
"It's nothing more than a distraction meant to distract away from the issues of the case for which people on the right have no answer for."
The CrowdJustice campaign has raised nearly $430,000 so far.
"Ms. Daniels paid a de minimis amount — plus the CrowdJustice, period," Avenatti told the DC.
