Melania Trump is forming a team to fight back against cheap shots taken against her and her 10-year-old son Barron, reports The New York Post.
Former Vogue staffer and Met Ball organizer Stephanie Winston Wolkoff will likely take on the role as Trump's chief strategist, reports the Post. He will also help her pick her chief of staff, communications chief and social secretary.
Trump has been the source of some public ridicule lately. Late-night TV show host Chelsea Handler said in a video interview that she couldn't speak English and later tweeted "Blink if you need help @MelaniaTrump."
President Donald Trump's personal lawyer told Page Six that Handler should be ashamed for "attacking our first lady in such a despicable manner."
"Don't be fooled by her accent. Melania is bright and articulate," said Michael Cohen. "To be clear, our first lady speaks multiple languages, I believe five. How many languages do you speak, Chelsea?"
The White House also released a statement Tuesday regarding privacy and the president's children.
"It is a longstanding tradition that the children of presidents are afforded the opportunity to grow up outside of the political spotlight," the statement said. "The White House fully expects this tradition to continue."
