Megyn Kelly has revealed the torment and anguish she suffered when Donald Trump attacked the Fox News star, calling "sick," "crazy," and TV's most overrated personality.

"I just wanted it to stop. You'd get past an incident and then it would start again. It was really shocking," Kelly told the new issue of People magazine out this Friday.

"The hate can be very ugly and it can be threatening and it can be off-putting when you're walking around the city with your kids in particular."

Trump's tongue-lashings came after Kelly kicked off the first GOP presidential debate with a question about alleged sexist comments the billionaire real-estate tycoon has made.

Kelly — and her Fox News bosses — stood behind her questioning.

"I certainly will not apologize for doing good journalism. So I'll continue doing my job without fear or favor," she told People.

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee and the 45-year-old anchor recently broke bread during a private meeting in Trump Tower in New York City — a powwow that resulted in Trump agreeing to a pre-taped TV sit-down with Kelly.

That interview will air on Fox News' "Megyn Kelly Presents" next Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.
