The "media silence" surrounding the activities of Hunter Biden and the revelations found on a laptop that potentially implicate Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden is "a step to socialism," Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said Thursday.
"Are we losing a free and fair press?" she asked on Fox News' "America's Newsroom." "Why won't they share these details about one presidential candidate and then they absolutely attack another candidate with anonymous sources? It is a total discrepancy and hypocrisy and we're worried about the state of our media in this country right now and it is resonating with the voters."
McDaniel said she doesn't think the coverage of the story will change in the days leading up to the election, especially considering that it has been "censored on Twitter."
"We talk about how Joe Biden wants to lead us toward socialism with socialized medicine, getting rid of our energy independence, all these things," said McDaniel. "The free and fair press is gone right now in this country if they are refusing to report or investigate or even ask tough questions of a presidential candidate."
Biden is also "saying he wants to stack the Supreme Court," and "that is frightening," said McDaniel. "This is a candidate [who says] I'll tell you my plans after I get elected. That's not acceptable. This is resonating with voters."
Meanwhile, even with most polls favoring Biden over President Donald Trump for next week's election, McDaniel said she's looking at early voting and energy on the ground, and "President Trump is winning day after day after day."
"Momentum is on his side, especially as voters are dialing into the fact that Joe Biden will raise your taxes on day one," said McDaniel. "[Biden] will fundamentally upend our healthcare system and change the third branch of government and get rid of checks and balances. We see voters coming out in droves for the president. The Democrats, they're absentee voters. We're Election Day voters. The energy we're seeing is very positive and everything from a trend standpoint is moving our way."
