Ex-Mayor Koch Tough on NY GOP Candidates, Except King

Monday, 13 September 2010 04:36 PM EDT

Former New York Mayor Ed Koch doesn’t mince words in his evaluation of the GOP primary for New York governor Tuesday. Former Rep. Rick Lazio has run a poor campaign, while developer Carl Paladino could make a tougher run against Democratic juggernaut Andrew Cuomo, Koch opines.

He soundly disses the GOP choices to take on Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand: Bruce Blakeman, Joe DioGuardi, and David Malpass.

But he crosses party lines in favoring Peter King to remain the 3rd Congressional District representative.
