President Donald Trump tweeted his endorsement Friday for Rep. Martha Roby, R-Ala.
"She is in a Republican Party runoff against a recent Nancy Pelosi-voting Democrat," Trump said in the tweet.
Roby is seeking her fifth term as a congresswoman and will face former Democratic Rep. Bobby Bright in a July runoff.
Roby has been critical of the president. She withdrew her support from him during his presidential candidacy in Oct. 2016 after the “Access Hollywood” tape surfaced which included comments about sexual assault.
Trump appeared to be making a reference to Bright’s past as a Democrat. Bright served in Congress as a Democrat, but has switched to the Republican Party for this election, The Dothan Eagle reported.
