The Obama administration is exercising "every possible avenue" to monitor and control the lives of Americans, U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn says.
"[They are] trying to force everybody into government-run healthcare so that government has access to all your information," Blackburn told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.
"They're going to exercise every possible avenue to get control of your life,'' she said Monday.
Blackburn, of Tennessee, recommends that Republicans continue to talk up the problems surrounding the Affordable Care Act and the endless tweaking of the law by President Barack Obama without the approval of Congress.

"Republicans [should keep] everybody's attention focused on what is happening, the lack of job growth, the increase in prices, the diminishment of access to healthcare. You might have insurance but you don't have access to the care," she said.
"Those are all things that we can do and should be doing as we go through appropriations, defunding parts of this, disallowing new IRS agents, disallowing the hiring or federal funds from being used for these [healthcare] navigators.
"And then let's just hope we get the Senate in 2014 . . . [and] at that point . . . slap the president's hands a little bit and say, no, you can't continue to expand Obamacare and you cannot continue to force people into plans they do not want at prices they cannot afford."
Blackburn also says Congress should keep the heat on former IRS official Lois Lerner, who twice has invoked the Fifth Amendment in refusing to testify before Congress about what she knew about the targeting of conservative groups.
"It is likely you’re going to see more pressure put on Ms. Lerner, and she owes not only Congress but the American people an explanation. Can she be subpoenaed absolutely? Can she be brought back . . . absolutely?" Blackburn said.
"Is it possible for Congress to hold her in contempt? . . . We can do that and we will continue to do whatever it is, with the IRS investigation or the Benghazi investigation, to push forward to get answers on behalf of the American people."
