Two-thirds of Americans say the federal government hasn’t done enough to blunt the economic hit from the coronavirus pandemic, a new poll found.

In the Marist survey, conducted for PBS, 40% said they or someone in their household has lost a job or income due to the coronavirus, and 67% said the government hasn’t done enough to provide economic relief.

Half of the respondents also approve of President Donald Trump's leadership during one of the most fraught times in the nation’s history.

Here’s a breakdown of key findings:

  • 61% said they would get vaccinated against the coronavirus; 58% of non-white respondents said they’d get the shot and 64% of white respondents said the same.

  • 59% said they disapprove of President Donald Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, while 37% approve.

  • 50% of Americans approve of his job as leader during the coronavirus pandemic and its concurrent economic recession, social and racial unrest, and a heated election.

  • 61% of Americans trust that the 2020 election results were accurate; 34% said they don’t think the results were accurate, including 72% of Republicans.

  • 65% of respondents said Trump should formally concede to Biden; that number includes 93% of Democrats, 75% of independents, and 31% of Republicans.

  • 47% said they have a favorable impression of Biden; 43% have an unfavorable impression of him.

  • 59% said Biden will do more to unite the country as president than to divide it.

The poll’s margin of error is +/- 4 percentage points.
