Democratic Rep. Lois Frankel of Florida announced on Monday her opposition to the Iran nuclear deal noting that "it legitimizes Iran’s nuclear program after 15 years and gives Iran access to billions of dollars without a commitment to cease its terrorist activity," Frankel said in a statement according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Frankel took to Twitter on her decision:
"As wrenching as this decision is for some lawmakers, it does not compare to the agony of the men, women, and children suffering at the hands of Iran's terrorist regime," Frankel said in a statement. "If the proposed nuclear agreement with Iran is approved, the Iranians will receive billions of dollars in unfrozen assets and future revenues that will undoubtedly be available to intensify their support of horrific activity aimed at innocent human beings."

Frankel added: "It's too high of a price to pay."

Frankel, of West Palm Beach, is the third Democratic representative in Florida to oppose the Iran deal,  According to the Times, Reps. Ted Deutch and Alcee Hastings also have come out against the deal.

Five Florida Democrats are in favor of the deal, including Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chairperson of the Democratic National Committee. She said Sunday she will be voting for the Iran nuclear deal despite reservations she still has about it.

Appearing Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union," Wasserman Schultz said that she has gone through a "gut-wrenching, thought-provoking process" before making her decision.

"There's nothing more important as a Jew to ensure Israel's existence is there throughout our generations," Wasserman Shultz said, tearing up. "I'm confident the process I've gone through to reach this decision is one to ensure Israel will be there forever. It's the homeland of my people."
