Striking back at a call by the Chair of the House GOP Conference, Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., to accept the election result, President Donald Trump tweeted she is just bitter his administration is bringing troops home.
Trump tweeted Saturday night:
"Sorry Liz, can't accept the results of an election with hundreds of thousands of fraudulent votes cast, enough to easily flip the Election. You're just unhappy that I'm bringing the troops back home where they belong!"
Trump's rebuke of former Vice President Dick Cheney's daughter came after she issued a statement the election legal challenges were damaging the "sanctity of the electoral process."
"America is governed by the rule of law," Rep. Cheney's statement read. "The president and his lawyers have made claims of criminality and widespread fraud, which they allege could impact election results. If they have genuine evidence of this, they are obligated to present it immediately in court and to the American people.
"If the president cannot prove these claims or demonstrate that they would change the election result, he should fulfill his oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States by respecting the sanctity of our electoral process."
Trump has been a frequent critic of VP Dick Cheney for his push on military action in the Middle East and Rep. Cheney has been quick to criticize Trump throughout his first term.
