Challenger: Lindsey Graham Not in Tune with South Carolina

By    |   Tuesday, 13 August 2013 11:35 PM EDT

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham has picked up a third GOP primary challenger in state Sen. Lee Bright.

Appearing Tuesday night on Fox Business Network's "Lou Dobbs Tonight," Bright said the two-term Graham has lost touch with South Carolinians. Nancy Mace, the first female graduate of the Citadel, and businessman Richard Cash also hope to oust Graham.

Graham is not showing leadership on conservative causes, Bright said. And he didn't come back to South Carolina during the August break, instead choosing to go to Egypt, "running around with [Sen. John] McCain acting as a community organizer for the Muslim Brotherhood."

McCain and Graham recently toured Egypt as the country attempts to form a new government after the military ousted its elected president after a year in office. The senators called on participation by the Muslim Brotherhood even though ousted president Mohammed Morsi was a member and tried to institute strict Islamic law. They also called for Morsi's release from prison and for the Muslim Brotherhood to renounce violence.

Bright called McCain, a Republican from Arizona, "a tool for the Democrat Party," adding that "Lindsey Graham is following suit."
