Lewandowski: Dems Failed in Georgia Because Ossoff Was 'Flawed'

Democrats spent $22 million trying to push Jon Ossoff to a win in Georgia's 6th Congressional District race, but failed because they had a "flawed candidate," President Donald Trump's former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said Wednesday.

"There has to be accountability somewhere in the media, [which is] continuing to have a narrative that 'this race is going to lose. Donald Trump can't win. Karen Handel can't win' because the American people are smart,'" Lewandowski told Fox News' "Fox & Friends."

Instead, Americans know Washington has been broken and Trump is "here to fix it," said Lewandowski.

"He needs help to get that done and that's why Karen Handel was sent to Washington," Lewandowski said of Handel's Tuesday night win.

Meanwhile, Democrats have had a "terrible message," said Lewandowski.

"They want to make this all about Donald Trump," he continued. "Great. It's about Donald Trump and he is winning."

There are some Democrats in the Senate up for re-election next year who want to work with Trump, said Lewandowski, and there are 10 Democrats in the Senate who are in states Trump carried.

It's important that Obamacare repair and replace legislation is passed, and there are Democrats who want that, said Lewandowski, specifically pointing to West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin.

"There are opportunities to work that bipartisan fashion," he said. "The most important thing is to actually get things done for a change."

Democrats are "so distraught, they are so rudderless," Lewandowski also said. "They have a terrible leadership. Spent $22 million on an election that they could have potentially won if they had a good message, which they don't."
