The United States' economic boom is the "single most important political story" that has happened this year, National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow said Thursday.
"This is going to have a huge impact on the November midterm elections," Kudlow told Fox News' "Fox and Friends."
"I know there's a lot of issues out there and so forth and, God knows we're not going through all of them but look, it is going to have a huge impact."
He added that paycheck income has moved up as well, from only one percent when President Donald Trump took office to over 3 percent recently, and "any political scientists that is the one to watch for elections."
"I think because paychecks are rising, the economy is growing unexpectedly, the GOP will keep the House, will keep the Congress," said Kudlow. "That is my take."
Kudlow also ridiculed The New York Times article that states Trump is touting an economic recovery that began under former President Barack Obama.
"All my friends who worked in the Obama administration, and I have a bunch of them, told us repeatedly we could never grow faster than 2 percent," said Kudlow. "That was their mantra, okay?
"Now we're growing at 4 percent, they're saying Obama should take credit. In other words, we couldn't grow at two but, uh-oh, we doubled that to four."
Trump deserves the credit, he said, for lowering tax rates, rolling back trade regulations and enforcing trade reform.
Numbers in consumer, small business, and large business confidence are at record highs and rising, and and Trump also deserves the credit for that as well, said Kudlow.
