A senior policy adviser in the Department of Labor has resigned after a Facebook post he made mockingly celebrating former House Speaker Paul Ryan’s win over a white supremacist and anti-Semite in 2016 resurfaced.
Leif Olson, who worked in the department’s Wage and Hour Division, resigned after a reporter from Bloomberg Law emailed screenshots of Olson’s August 10, 2016 post about the recent election, in which then-Rep. Paul Ryan won over avowed white nationalist Paul Nehlen by a substantial margin, to the department along with a request for comment.
“Establishment insider RINO corporate tool Paul Ryan was finally brought to heel in tonight’s primary election by an uprising of the conservative masses of Real America eager for an authentic voice in Washington instead of the same tired globalist open-borders pap they’ve been pushing on us since the Elites abandoned the People,” Olson wrote.
“[Ryan] just suffered a massive, historic, emasculating 70-point victory,” he added. “Let’s see him and his Georgetown cocktail-party puppetmasters try to walk that one off.”
When another person commented that Ryan is a “neocon,” Olson responded, “No he’s not. Neo-cons are all Upper East Side Zionists who don’t golf on Saturday if you know what I mean.”
The commentator replied: “That’s what I meant. He’s a Jew.”
“It must be true because I’ve never seen the Lamestream Media report it, and you know they protect their own,” Olson wrote.
He later told Bloomberg Law that his posts were “sarcastic criticism of the alt-right’s conspiracy theories and anti-Semitic positions.”
