Republican candidate Kris Kobach is edging out his Democratic challenger Laura Kelly 44 percent to 43 percent in the race for Kansas governor, with independent Greg Orman at 8 percent and 4 percent undecided, according to an Emerson College poll released on Tuesday.
Kelly holds a slight edge among female voters at 45 percent to 41 percent, while Kobach has the advantage among men at 48 percent to 41 percent.
Kobach has a 43 percent favorable rating and a 46 percent unfavorable one, while Kelly has a 44 percent favorable rating and a 37 percent unfavorable one.
In the state, President Donald Trump has a 53 percent favorable rating and a 42 percent unfavorable one.
The survey was conducted between Oct. 26-28 among 976 likely voters, with a margin of error of 3.3 percentage points.
