Unite the Country, a super PAC backing former Vice President Joe Biden's presidential candidacy, has hired Lily Adams, a former aide to Hillary Clinton and Sen. Kamala Harris, as its chief communications officer.
Adams served as communications director for Harris' presidential campaign and as a spokesperson for Clinton's presidential campaign in 2016, reports CNN.
The super PAC also announced that it has added Jennifer Clyburn Reed, the daughter of Rep. Jim Clyburn, D-S.C., to its board of directors, days after group treasurer and longtime Biden friend Larry Rasky died.
"Dr. Reed's leadership will prove invaluable as we continue to help Joe Biden build a national, diverse coalition that speaks to the needs of all Americans and will be key to success in November," said Steve Schale, CEO of Unite the Country. "We are very excited to have Lily on the team. She is a well-respected, veteran communications strategist who has held leadership roles on numerous high-profile races."
Schale said the super PAC is turning its focus to the November election. The group has also released ads attacking President Donald Trump on his handling of the growing coronavirus pandemic, with its first national ad based solely on the president released this week.
