Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., appeared frustrated with her fellow Democratic candidates for president on the debate stage Thursday night, telling them Americans would rather not watch 10 people argue and talk over each other.
"America does not want a food fight, they want to know how we put food on their table," Harris said.
"So, on that point, part of the issue at play in America today, and we have all been traveling around the country. . . . I meet people working two and three jobs."
Harris then brought President Donald Trump into her argument, saying the economy under his leadership is only benefitting certain people.
"This president talks about and [is] flouting his great economy," Harris said. "'My great economy.' Yes, and how are you measuring the greatness of this economy? He talks about the stock market. That's fine if you own stocks. So many families do not.
"You ask how are you measuring the greatness and they point to the jobless and unemployment numbers. People are working, but working two and three jobs. In our America, no one should have to work more than one job to have a roof over their head and food on their table."
