Sen. John McCain is going on the offensive for his re-election bid in Arizona, one that could be the toughest of his political career,
The New York Times reports.
Seeking a sixth term in the senate, McCain launched his first TV ad Tuesday aimed at his would-be Democratic opponent, Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick. Simultaneously, McCain has a primary election in August to campaign for, too.
With a presidential race at the top of the Arizona ticket, Kirkpatrick will have the full force of the national Democratic machine behind her, so Team McCain is wasting no time hitting Kirkpatrick where it thinks she is most vulnerable — healthcare reform
"While Kirkpatrick's proud of putting us at risk, John McCain is leading the fight to stop Obamacare," the announcer says in the new ad, the Times reports.
