Trump Blasts John Kerry for Subverting His Administration

("The Dan Bongino Show"/Rumble)

Former President Donald Trump alleged he would have had a new nuclear deal with Iran had it not been for former Secretary of State John Kerry subverting his administration's work to decertify the Iran nuclear deal bought by the Obama administration.

"I just see today John Kerry on what he did with Iran," Trump told "The Dan Bongino Show" in an interview that aired Wednesday. "I was pushing that very, very had – maybe from a little bit of a different angle.

"I think we would have had a deal with Iran done, except he was telling them not to do it. That's my opinion, and I think now that's coming out. I think it's a terrible thing."

Trump pointed to hypocritical behavior by the Obama administration and then Vice President Joe Biden in using the Logan Act to investigate Trump transition team members like Gen. Michael Flynn. The Logan Act is an outdated federal statute that says private American citizens cannot speak to foreign powers on America's behalf.

"You talk about Logan Act," he continued. "Look what they did with Gen. Flynn and the Logan Act. And then they say, 'oh, we don't use the Logan Act.' Oh, well, the Logan Act can be used, and what they did with John Kerry and the way he was protected was incredible, actually incredible.

"Now it's turned out to be even worse, though, now with these tapes."

Kerry "has an awful lot of explaining to do" regarding accusations he told Iran about Israeli military operations while serving as former President Barack Obama’s secretary of state," Trump administration Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said this week after Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif claimed in a leaked audiotape that Kerry revealed more than 200 operations Israel had conducted against Iranian targets.

Kerry, President Joe Biden's climate czar, also reportedly met with Zarif as a private citizen after leaving office – something that has raised concerns about what he might have disclosed to the foreign minister and other Iranian officials.

"Looks like from this reporting it's confirmed what we already believed, which is when I was briefing President Trump, Kerry was briefing Zarif on intelligence that related to Israeli operations," Pompeo told Fox News this week.
