President Donald Trump is "dangerous" and "unfit" to serve and lacks a "moral compass," former Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis said, according to a new book.
The Washington Post's Bob Woodward spoke with Trump and several people in his orbit for his new book, "Rage," and wrote that the retired Marine Corps general has some concerns about the current occupant in the White House.
For example, Woodward wrote that Mattis went to the National Cathedral to pray for the nation under Trump's leadership. He also told the now former Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, "There may come a time when we have to take collective action" since Trump is "dangerous. He's unfit."
In another conversation, according to Woodward, Mattis said to Coats, "The president has no moral compass."
Coats said, "True. To him, a lie is not a lie. It's just what he thinks. He doesn't know the difference between the truth and a lie."
