Rep. Jim Jordan, a member of the House committee questioning Jim Comey Monday, said he and other committee members just hope the former FBI director will answer questions, but Comey "thinks the rules don't apply to him."
"Last time, 245 times, he said he didn't know, couldn't remember," the Ohio Republican and House Judiciary Committee member, told Fox News' "Fox and Friends."
"We hope he answers more questions. We will ask him about the Comey memos. He did seven different memos about meeting with the president and chief of staff."
After senators interviewed Comey last week, he complained that he was asked several questions about 2016 presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's emails, but Jordan said his committee is more focused on the Russia investigation and how he handled one side over the other.
"In one situation, Clinton is under investigation and he calls it a matter," said Jordan. "In one situation President (Donald) Trump isn't under the investigation, but he allows the country to believe he is. It is all about Jim Comey. I think he mishandled both investigations all the way through."
Jordan also commented on Trump's call for $5 billion for border wall funding, under threat of a government shutdown, saying he agrees with the president that the money is needed.
"This is the central promise we made to voters in 2016," said Jordan. "Everyone knows with good common sense, we can secure our southern border."
