Rep. Jordan: Freedom Caucus Wants AG Sessions to Probe Links With Fusion GPS

Members of the House Freedom Caucus are calling for Attorney General Jeff Sessions to examine links between Hillary Clinton, former FBI Director James Comey, ex-Attorney General Loretta Lynch and Fusion GPS, chairman Jim Jordan said Thursday.

"Think of what we've learned," the Ohio Republican told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program. "The author of the dossier was on the FBI's payroll, at least was reimbursed for the dossier. Now, was that for the dossier or something else? We don't know, but he was on the FBI payroll for this time period."

Jordan, though, said he believes Obama-era FBI Director Robert Mueller, who is serving as special counsel in the investigation into Russian collusion in the 2016 election, is compromised because of the Uranium One deal, and is in a "somewhat precarious position" that also needs investigated.

"The best thing would be is to look for Jeff Sessions to name a special counsel," said Jordan.

"We should think about all of the stuff that went on in 2016," he added. "Why would Loretta Lynch tell James Comey to call the Clinton investigation the matter, not an investigation?

"Why would Loretta Lynch meet just one day before the Benghazi report comes out, five days before Sec. Clinton is scheduled to be interviewed, with Bill Clinton on the tarmac in Phoenix? And why after communicating about that meeting, why not use her real name and use Elizabeth Carlyle?"

If they were just speaking about their grandchildren and golf, she could have used her real name, Jordan said.

"We have all of these questions about 2016 and what we just learned. If this doesn't cry out for a special counsel or more investigations from the House Oversight Committee and Judiciary Committee, I don't know what does, and that's what we're doing," said Jordan.
