Jill Biden, the wife of former Vice President Joe Biden, this week praised the women who spoke out about feeling uncomfortable with her husband touching them.
During an appearance on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah,” on Wednesday to promote her new book, Biden addressed host Trevor Noah’s question about her husband being “too massage-y with people,” saying that “it took a lot of courage for women to step forward,” and that she’s ready to discuss the issue during the campaign for president.
“Look, it took a lot of courage for women to step forward and say, you know, ‘You’re in my space’, and Joe heard that,” she said. “And it just won’t happen again. He heard what they were saying.”
Joe Biden has emerged as the front-runner in the race for the Democratic nomination, but criticism from women who felt uncomfortable with his touching them caused him to vow in a statement to “be more mindful about respecting personal space in the future.”
