Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Republicans hoping to overturn the election results should give up.
Bush made his comments in a Thursday night tweet.
His comments were in reference to a suit filed with the Supreme Court by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton challenging the results in four battleground states.
Bush wrote: “This is crazy. it will be killed on arrival. Why are smart people advancing this notion? Let it go. The election is over.”
Om Wednesday Bush had tweeted: “There is no legal theory and the conservative majority Supreme Court will reject it out of hand.”
Paxton had filed suit on Tuesday against Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, claiming the four states exploited the pandemic to justify ignoring election laws.
He claimed the states unlawfully enacted last-minute changes, which skewed the results of the general election.
