Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., blasted President Joe Biden for handing over "all decision making" on the issue of school reopening to teachers' unions.
Biden "said he would follow the science" in handling the COVID-19 pandemic, Comer told Newsmax TV's "John Bachman Now" on Wednesday.
"He's ceded all decision making to the teachers' unions," Comer lamented.
"Joe Biden said right from the bat he's going to follow the lead of the liberal teachers' unions. It's a huge loss for our children," he said.
According to Comer, "with the Biden administration, [the priority] is definitely the teachers," and said for children, "it's not the same when you have to do something in person . . . and do it virtual."
Comer also attacked Biden economic policies that have "cost jobs," and warned pushing for a minimum wage will do the same thing.
"Everything Joe Biden has done from an economic standpoint thus far has cost jobs," Comer argued, pointing to his Keystone XL Pipeline decision as an example.
"If he implements a minimum wage increase . . . businesses are going to cut employees," Comer warned, adding "we haven't seen anything from the Biden administration . . . to maintain jobs we have."
Yet, Comer charged, the administration continues "to push it for their narrative."
"The whole Biden agenda is based on pleasing the left wing ideologically of the Democratic Party," he said, adding, mandating a minimum wage will "lead to inflation" and "then you really haven't accomplished what your goal was."
"We've got economists saying you could cause an economic crash," Comer said.
