Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, was "absolutely right" with her comments that President Donald Trump's impeachment increases the likelihood that he'll be re-elected, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said Tuesday.
"She's looking at this with a much more independent voice," Huckabee, a Fox News contributor, said on "America's Newsroom." "Most of the Democrats are like sheep. Whatever Nancy Pelosi, Jerry Nadler, Adam Schiff, AOC tell them to think and do, that's what they do. They line up and they followed just like good sheep."
They don't like the Hawaii Democrat, added Huckabee, because "they've done everything to marginalize her and keep her off the debate stage and keep her quiet because she's telling the truth."
Gabbard also commented that "we all know" that Trump will not be found guilty by the Senate, which is also emboldening him and his supporters.
"She is no Trump fan," said Huckabee. "She is not a person who sympathizes with Donald Trump and Republicans, let's be clear."
But he added he does "admire her" for "speaking out from her heart."
Meanwhile, Trump's voters are "on fire," said Huckabee.
"They look at this and they see what it is," he said. "It's a sham. [Democrats] say they've been working on impeachment for over three years but it's all based on a phone call that just happened a few months ago. Everybody sees through that. They know it's phony and they are angry and they are fired up."
