The left is crying out over President-elect Donald Trump's call for a new relationship with Russia because their own election hopes and foreign policies have failed, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said Monday.
"It failed with Russia, it failed in the Middle East, miserably failed in the Middle East," Huckabee told the Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program. "The Obama administration has freaked out over the whole election. They want a reset on everything.
"The reason is they still believe everyone gets a trophy, that you can't lose an election. Well, they lost and they are going to learn to get over it because on Jan. 20, Donald Trump is going to be president whether they like it or not."
Trump is approaching Russia with a "totally different perspective," said Huckabee, and has nominated Rex Tillerson as his Secretary of State to bring in someone who knows Russia and President Vladimir Putin.
"Even before he takes office there's already a dramatic turn, look at the stock market, look at how businesses are beginning to see their future, they're anticipating being able to spend cash they sat on because over regulation, over taxation, and over litigation causes job migration to other countries," said Huckabee.
Jobs and companies are returning, Huckabee continued, "because we've set the table for a business banquet. They can beat their competitors but the number one competitor in business today is not the competition.
"The number one competitor is government. I think Donald Trump is going to make dramatic changes and change the rules, that's got to happen in this country."
