Under fire for keeping Hillary Clinton's health details under wraps, the Democratic nominee's campaign announced Wednesday she had been diagnosed with mild, non-contagious bacterial pneumonia.
The more detailed account of Clinton's health status came after she became woozy and had to be physically supported after leaving a 9/11 memorial event Sunday.
Dr. Lisa Bardack, Clinton's personal doctor and the chair of Internal Medicine at CareMount Medical in Mount Kisco, N.Y., said she evaluated Clinton multiple times in the last week -- including Wednesday – and Clinton had a small right middle-lobe pneumonia, CNN reported.
"The remainder of her complete physical exam was normal and she is in excellent mental condition," Bardack added, saying Clinton "is recovering well with antibiotics," including Levaquin, which she will have to take for a total of 10 days, according to CNN.
Clinton's doctor also declared her "fit to serve" as president.
After Clinton's health scare Sunday in Lower Manhattan, she was driven to daughter Chelsea's apartment, from which she later left and announced she was feeling better.
Bardack evaluated Clinton at her Chappaqua, N.Y., home afterward, CNN reported; the campaign later announced Clinton had pneumonia that had been diagnosed Friday.
Clinton conceded this week she ignored her doctor's advice after the Friday diagnosis, which was to modify her schedule.
She has since canceled three days of events in California and Nevada and is set to return to the campaign trail Thursday in North Carolina.
But the health scare highlighted questions about the transparency of medical health issues for both Clinton and GOP nominee Donald Trump.
Trump handed over some medical data Wednesday on "The Dr. Oz Show," including the results of a recent physical exam. There was no elaboration, however, after the taping of the show, which will air Thursday.
