GOP Presidential Campaign Set to Roll in Spring

Potential Republican presidential candidates are starting to get their ducks in a row, as the campaign appears set to begin in earnest during March and April. “Republicans say the campaign is still starting far more gradually than it did last cycle, when multiple candidates launched their bids shortly after the November mid-terms,” Politico reports.

republ;ican, candidates, president , spring“But if the current campaign is a long way from a 2008-style sprint, it is already approaching something of a speed-walk, as candidates weigh the advantages of entering late against the need to ramp up their fundraising and staff recruitment as soon as possible,” the news service reports..

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (pictured) and Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty already have said they will decide on running by March. And both already have entered campaign mode too, with Gingrich speaking in South Carolina Thursday and Pawlenty scheduled for six early-state appearances on a January book tour.
