Glenn Beck's GM: Beck Was Not Advocating Violence Against Trump

The general manager of Glenn Beck's radio show slammed SiriusXM for the week-long suspension of the outspoken conservative.

"I wanted to respond on his behalf so that the unfortunate fabrications surrounding his interview with Brad Thor don't spread any further," General Manager Dom Theodore, wrote on GlennBeck.com.

SiriusXM pulled Beck's radio program after Thor — with a provocative query about "what patriot" would "stand in the way" of an unrestrained president Donald Trump — allegedly implied an assassination hit, Breitbart News reports.

The suspension came after Beck interviewed Thor and the author likened the presumptive Republican presidential candidate to a South American-style dictator who would cause an "extinction-level event" if elected.

Thor declared in such a case, Congress would not be able to remove Trump from office by "legal means," asking "what patriot will step up and do that" if Trump oversteps his constitutional restraints. Beck agreed with Thor's assessment.

But Theodore insisted Beck was not advocating violence.

"As every listener of the show knows, Glenn has never — and will never — advocate violence," Theodore wrote on Beck's web site.  Glenn is a firm believer in Martin Luther King's approach to affecting change, not Malcolm X's. This past summer, he organized an event in Birmingham, Alabama called Restoring Unity, the purpose of which was to unite different groups to commit to come together.

"For the past several months, Glenn has warned his audience, and anyone else willing to listen, that the current political climate is worse than anything he has ever witnessed or studied in American history. We have been preparing for an assault on Glenn's voice …"
