A mystery gambler in England bet $5 million on President Donald Trump to win reelection, in what is considered to be the biggest wager ever on a politician candidate, according to the Washington Examiner.

The person is a former banker who placed the bet through a private bookmaker that operated in Caribbean-based Curacao. If the person wins, the payout would be $15 million.

The gambler reportedly spoke with "Trump camp insiders" before making the wager.

Last month, $150 million in bets were made in Europe, and Biden had 2-1 odds to win.

While odds making website OddsChecker has called Biden the favorite in the election, it said the difference between the two candidates has “drastically narrowed” since Monday.

“The 2020 election is following a very similar betting pattern to the one we witnessed back in 2016. The closer we got to Election Day, the more money came for Donald Trump,” said Sam Eaton, who runs marketing for OddsChecker.
