Donald Trump only holds a 3-point lead over Ben Carson in the latest
Fox News poll of Republican presidential candidates released Wednesday, but the retired pediatric neurosurgeon holds a strong lead over the developer with evangelical Christians.
Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio follow with double-digit finishes, while the remaining contenders ended in the single digits.
The results:
- Trump: 26 percent.
- Carson: 23 percent.
- Cruz and Rubio: 11 percent.
- Jeb Bush, Mike Huckabee, John Kasich, and Rand Paul: 4 percent.
- Carly Fiorina: 3 percent.
- Chris Christie: 2 percent.
The poll also finds among white evangelical Christians, the top three finishers are:
- Carson: 33 percent.
- Trump: 23 percent.
- Cruz: 12 percent.
Fox News surveyed 1,230 voters between Sunday and Tuesday, and the survey has a margin of error of 3 percent.
