Former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist is widely expected to win the Democratic nomination to challenge incumbent Gov. Rick Scott, and political observers are largely looking beyond the primary to November's election.
Crist, a former Republican who left the party and eventually became a Democrat, leads Scott, a Republican,
in the polls, but former Florida Sen. George LeMieux says the tide will soon turn for Scott.
"I think what Rick has to do and what he's starting to do by being on television now is tell the story," LeMieux told John Bachman and J.D. Hayworth on "America's Forum" on Newsmax TV. "Tell the story of Florida's return, Florida's success; what he has been able to do to help create jobs in the state, get people back to work."

LeMieux said that while Crist is better than Scott at connecting with voters one-on-one, the race will come down to who has the most money.
"I suspect that [Scott's ongoing barrage of TV ads] will really not go off the air until the November election date, and the question will be how much money will Charlie Crist have to combat that message?" LeMieux said. "Because as good as a people person as Charlie Crist is, you can't meet enough people in Florida. The state's just too big."
