CNN: FBI's Email Review Won't Be Complete by Election

The FBI probably won't complete before Election Day its examination of newly uncovered emails that may be pertinent to its probe of Hillary Clinton's private server, CNN reported Monday.

The initial work of cataloging top Clinton top aide Huma Abedin's emails found on a laptop she shared with estranged husband Anthony Weiner could be done in the next few days, unnamed sources told CNN.

They'll need more time doing other work, CNN reported, including likely coordination with other federal agencies to determine what — if any — classified materials are contained in the emails.

And, it's possible investigators will need to interview Abedin and others once again, CNN reported.

"We are very aware of the pressure on us," one law enforcement official told CNN. "This is not a resource problem."

For his part, FBI Director James Comey — who dropped the bombshell last Friday about additional emails prompting a reopening of the Clinton probe — isn't likely to be commenting anytime soon, CNN reported.

But he stands by his decision — and though battered by critics on both sides of the aisle — is "doing okay," an unnamed source told CNN.
