The Facebook ads purchased by a Russian-linked troll farm and posted in 2016 will be made public by the House Intelligence Committee investigating foreign meddling in the presidential election, Reps. Michael Conaway and Adam Schiff said Wednesday.

"We will do that as quick as we can," Conaway told reporters after a closed-door meeting with Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg.

Facebook in early October turned over to Congress 3,000 ads designed to disrupt the election and further divide an already polarized nation. At least one ad appeared in late 2015 and claimed to speak for Black Lives Matter, according to a report in CNN. The ad was targeted to reach audiences in Ferguson and Baltimore, where protests against police violence have taken place.

A group known as the Internet Research Agency, which U.S. intelligence says is a "state-funded organization that blogs on tweets on behalf of the Kremlin,” purchased the ads, which focused on racial issues, the LGBT movement, gun rights, and illegal immigrants.

Facebook, which is under increasing pressure from Washington to address Russian meddling in the election, has been asked to testify before Congress on Russia and the 2016 election on Nov. 1.
