The wife of U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, the Labor Department announced Tuesday, requiring both Scalia and his wife Trish to quarantine at home.
The Labor Department made the revelation in a statement on its website, saying Trish Scalia was experiencing mild symptoms, that Eugene Scalia had received results Tuesday evening from a test for the SARS-CoV-2 virus that was negative and has experienced no symptoms.
CNN reported both Eugene and Trish Scalia attended the Sept. 26 announcement in the Rose Garden of the White House where President Donald Trump formally revealed U.S. Appeals Court Judge Amy Coney Barrett as his nominee to replace deceased Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court.
Many pundits have suggested the event was where several members of the Trump administration, including Trump himself, contracted the virus that causes COVID-19.
