Sen. Elizabeth Warren doesn't think President-elect Donald Trump is doing enough to distance himself from his businesses with just over a week left until Inauguration Day.
"I'm more concerned now than ever, because he's not moving where he needs to move," the Massachusetts Democrat told Bloomberg TV, reports The Hill. "And that is, we need to have him divest. He needs to get rid of his business interests, and he needs to put them in what's called a blind trust."
During his Wednesday press conference, Trump said he will leave his positions at the companies within the Trump Organization, but he will not give up ownership. The company's portfolio includes more than 500 companies.
"I could actually run my business and run government at the same time," Trump said. "I don't like the way that looks, but I would be able to do that if I wanted to."
Warren, who recently gained a seat on the Senate Armed Services Committee, would like to see Trump take things a step further to clear up any questions about conflicts of interest as commander-in-chief.
"This is not a Democrat versus Republican. This is the difference between being on the private side, and you get to get out there and make money and advance your business interests, and becoming a public servant," Warren said.
