2 Creators of Chrysler/Eastwood Ad Donated Time to Obama in '08

By    |   Wednesday, 08 February 2012 12:23 PM EST

Two members of the creative team that produced the Super Bowl ad for Chrysler narrated by Clint Eastwood donated their time to support President Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.

Critics of the ad, titled, “It’s Halftime in America,” charge that it subtly echoes some of Obama’s major re-election campaign themes.

Chrysler Chairman and CEO Sergio Marchionne insists the spot had “zero political content,” and Eastwood said the ad “doesn’t have a political message.”

But The Hollywood Reporter discloses that two members of the ad agency that produced the spot, Wieden+Kennedy, donated their time to create artwork — a poster and an art exhibit in New York — supporting Obama’s campaign.
