Republican Rep. Jeff Duncan praised WikiLeaks in a series of tweets on Monday:

WikiLeaks is an anti-secrecy site that is publishing stolen emails from Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman, John Podesta. Duncan said that he was not praising WL founder Julian Assange, saying, “Thankful info is out there, but never have condoned illegal activity.”

Assange is an Australian activist who is living in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London to avoid a rape charge in Sweden, according to The Hill.

Material uncovered by the WikiLeaks releases includes documents and statements that have been embarrassing for Clinton, her campaign and the Democratic National Committee. An Oct. 15 release appeared to contain the text of several of Clinton’s speeches to Wall Street.

In a later tweet, Duncan claimed that major networks and Clinton’s campaign are in “collusion.”

Duncan is a Trump supporter who has praised the candidate. The State reported on Oct. 10 that Duncan responded to Trump’s lewd 2005 comments by saying, "I continue to be more concerned with Hillary Clinton’s actions than I am with Donald Trump’s words."
