President Donald Trump will travel to California Tuesday to inspect prototypes for his proposed southern border wall — his first visit to the Golden State since taking office.
Trump plans to visit border wall prototypes in San Diego and attend a Republican fundraiser, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The LA Times noted Trump is the first president since Dwight Eisenhower to skip a visit to California during his first year in office.
Trump announced last week he wouldn’t move forward on portions of the wall planned for California until the entire wall has been OK'd, The Hill reported. California's Attorney General Xavier Bacerra is among the officials of some states who’ve opposed the plans.
The LA Times reported the relationship between Trump and the Democratic state government has hit a new low, with the administration filing suit this week against the sanctuary state to enforce federal immigration actions.
