Trump Touts 'Great' Puerto Rico Visit, Hits 'Fake' News Coverage

President Donald Trump on Wednesday took to Twitter to tout his "great" visit to Puerto Rico on Tuesday, rebuffing the negative parts of the trip as the standard "fake" news.

A great day in Puerto Rico yesterday. While some of the news coverage is Fake, most showed great warmth and friendship.

He doubled down on "fake news" with another tweet less than an hour later.

During his visit Tuesday, Trump asked Puerto Rican officials about their "death count," and compared their plight to that of New Orleans after "a real catastrophe like Hurricane Katrina," and told them that hurricane-caused strife had "thrown our budget a little out of whack."

His message was panned by San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz, his chief antagonist over relief efforts, and the death toll rose to 34 after the president departed.
