Donald Trump took to Twitter late Thursday to tout a poll showing him way ahead of his rivals for the Republican presidential nomination and beating Democrat Hillary Clinton by 5 points in a hypothetical contest.
Here’s the developer's tweet:
He was referring the survey results released Sunday by
Morning Consult, a digital media and polling company founded in 2013 and based in Washington.
Here's the results of its latest survey of 2,000 voters nationwide:
- Trump: 41 percent.
- Ben Carson: 12 percent.
- Marco Rubio: 10 percent.
- Ted Cruz: 7 percent.
- Jeb Bush: 5 percent.
- Chris Christie and Mike Huckabee: 3 percent each.
- Carly Fiorina, John Kasich and Rand Paul: 2 percent each.
- Lindsey Graham and George Pataki: 1 percent each.
In a match-up against Clinton, Trump would beat the former secretary of state 45-40 percent.
