Donald Trump and other conservatives slammed presidential debate moderator Lester Holt Monday for being pro-Hillary Clinton in their first showdown, with the Republican taking to Twitter to bash the NBC News host for the questions he should have asked.

Here's Trump's tweet:

Breitbart News declared Holt had a "Candy Crowley moment" — referring to now-former CNN anchor's performance during the 2012 debate between President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney — when he fact-checked Trump on his support of the Iraq War.

"Holt lived up to the expectations of his peers," Breitbart's Joel Pollak declared. "But he lived down to the worst expectations of conservatives, who routinely see Republican candidates treated unfairly by debate moderators.

"Again and again, Holt asked Trump tough questions that were straight from the Clinton campaign's talking points, and which were obvious setups for Clinton to attack [and for fact-checkers to pounce on whatever Trump asserted in his own defense]," he said.

Besides Benghazi and the Clinton Foundation, Pollak noted how Holt did not ask the Democrat about her emails — and set up Trump as "sexist" by prefacing his question about whether Clinton had "a presidential look" with the words that she was "the first woman" to be a major party presidential nominee.

"Bow again, Lester Holt," Pollak concluded. "You did your job."

New York Post columnist Kyle Smith said "in the last half of the show, Holt started going after Trump."

He called the back-and-forth over Iraq "an unfortunate bickering match" and said "the exchange became tiresome on both sides, with the two men talking past each other.

"Arguing with Trump is Clinton's job, not Holt's," Smith said.
