Donald Trump has made a wild plea to Iowa voters — asking them to "get your asses in gear" and make him the Republican presidential front-runner in the Hawkeye State once again.
The billionaire developer — for months the top dog of the GOP presidential pack — was jolted this week when an Iowa poll, as well as a national poll said retired pediatric neurosurgeon Ben Carson had rocketed ahead to first place, leaving Trump in the dust at No. 2
"This is ridiculous … I mean, what is my competition, in all fairness?" Trump said to a crowd of 2,400 at a campaign event in Iowa,
TheWrap.com reports.
"Iowa, will you get your numbers up, please? I promise you I will do such a good job."

Monmouth University poll released Monday shows Carson leading Trump 32 percent to 18 percent among likely Republican Iowa voters. And in a
CBS News/New York Times national poll out Tuesday, Carson sailed past Trump, 26 percent to 22 percent.
Trump, who has a habit of shooting from the lip and ignoring the consequences, added tongue-in-cheek:
"I refuse to say get your asses in gear. I refuse to say it! So will you please do me a favor and work with my people and go out on Feb. 1 and vote? And if I win Iowa, we're going to run the whole table."
A showdown is expected between Trump and Carson during Wednesday night's third GOP presidential debate on CNBC.
