President Donald Trump went on a tweetstorm Monday to defend his zero-tolerance immigration policies and chew out Democrats for not helping change existing laws he says allow murderous thugs and gangs to run rampant.
"Why don’t the Democrats give us the votes to fix the world’s worst immigration laws? Where is the outcry for the killings and crime being caused by gangs and thugs, including MS-13, coming into our country illegally?" Trump asked on Twitter.
He followed his complaint with a critique of ongoing immigration problems that have plagued Europe, and in particular, Germany, where German Chancellor Angela Merkel is battling renegade members of her government who want to tighten the rules for asylum seekers who wish to enter Germany.
"The people of Germany are turning against their leadership as migration is rocking the already tenuous Berlin coalition. Crime in Germany is way up. Big mistake made all over Europe in allowing millions of people in who have so strongly and violently changed their culture!" Trump tweeted.
He added in a third tweet that the United States must not follow Europe’s mistakes.
"We don’t want what is happening with immigration in Europe to happen with us!" the commander in chief said.
Trump has been facing a storm of criticism for breaking up families that illegally entering the U.S. by separating parents from their children.
He picked up his thread an hour later with another series of tweets.
