Donald Trump is facing another problem in convincing conservatives that he will represent their values, this time due to numerous inconsistencies in articulating his healthcare policy, The Hill reports.

Republican healthcare experts say the contradictions in the candidate's statements about the issue have made it almost impossible to figure out what he really intends to do.

The latest cause of bafflement was the posting on Trump's website of a healthcare plan that does not mention many of the more prominent promises he has recently made.

For example, although he remains adamant that he wants to repeal Obamacare, Trump has also promised to "take care of everyone." But his health plan includes no expansion of coverage and could actually end protection for millions of people, The Hill reports.

In addition, there is no provision in his plan relating to his previous pledge to keep protection for those with pre-existing conditions.

Republican experts said they are not only concerned that he does not back up slogans with practical policy suggestions, but are also bewildered that he has not proposed more ideas as to how to pay for the costs of the healthcare system.

A Huffington Post blog contends that when Trump has talked in general about how to help cover the costs, he plays loose with the facts.

Trump claims on his website that "Providing healthcare to illegal immigrants costs us some $11 billion annually. If we were to simply enforce the current immigration laws and restrict the unbridled granting of visas to this country, we could relieve healthcare cost pressures on state and local governments."

But the blog, written by two health professionals, maintains that the figure stated by Trump is false and not backed up by any credible source and leaves out many factors that show illegal immigrants actually pay more in taxes than what they receive.
